I’m still obsessed with ice cream floats these days, and this blueberry float is one I’ve tried that is not only refreshing and delicious, but also so very lovely to look at. I think you could serve it as a fancy dessert at a dinner party. Or, more to my habit, just have it by yourself on a hot afternoon. Plus, in June the blueberries should be in season.
Ingredients:
1 blueberry IZZE
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
1 handful fresh or—even easier—frozen blueberries
1 sprig mint, optional
1 straw
Directions:
1. Fill a glass ¾ of the way up with blueberry IZZE,* which is a fruit-based soda (alas, not organic, but let me know if you find an organic brand of blueberry soda!)
2. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
3. Add the fresh or frozen blueberries.
4. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
5. Drink with a straw!
*IZZE sodas are made with 70 percent fruit juice, sparkling water, and no added sugar, preservatives, artificial colors or flavors, and no caffeine, either.
Plus, blueberries are really good for you, so eat ’em or drink ’em up!
Sounds delish! Gotta find new ways of using up all those fresh blueberries that will be popping up round these parts! I would have never thought of using Izze!!! My kids will be thrilled with this and I am sure it will be at the top of our Go To list!
The boys and I are very new to blogging. It will be great to learn organic goodness here on yours as we venture into recording our journey.
Have a fantabulous day!
I also just discovered an amazing blueberry soda made by Maine Root Soda Company. Yum! And it might even be organic!
